McAfee Modular Systems, LLC (“MMS”), a sub-division of McAfee3 Architects, manufactures product systems to construct affordable single and multi-family housing. Developed by Architect Charles F. McAfee, FAIA over 45 years ago with his knowledge and experience in the construction industry.
The innovative system has gained national recognition and received numerous awards for innovation in affordable housing construction. MMS homes are well designed, quality built, indistinguishable from traditional “stick-built” homes in exterior and interior finish and affords great flexibility in size and floor plans.

The development of affordable housing and the creation of jobs was hallmarked by opening a manufacturing plant that hire and train people from within the community to make components and build houses.
Dedicated to the concept of affordable housing for all, a challenge issued by Whitney Young himself, Charles McAfee set out to develop modular housing that would be within the reach of low-income families and individuals. He defined the challenge in this way, “People do not work where they can not live. People who have no income cannot purchase homes.”
Charles designed a plan for low-cost, low maintenance, highly functional, aesthetically pleasing homes. Because Charles wanted the houses built within the existing urban fabric, his design allowed for a variety of layouts to accommodate limited or confined infill lot sizes. There are over 100 floor plans for single family homes.
