Alongside EXP, an excellent team was assembled that included McAfee3 providing the Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment Package and the Signage Package for this project. DFW-IOC is a 38,911 gross square foot single-story building. The building plan is organized with the most important spaces – the Shared Floor and EOC – in the center, with all related support spaces located around it. Through a series of stakeholder meetings, showroom visits, and information gathering sessions with the user group, we created a design profile and itemized schedule of furniture items for the Integrated Operations Center personnel. These selected items feature a contemporary design aesthetic aligned with the client’s aesthetic and met the durability requirements for a 24/7 work environment

McAfee3 is one of five firms in the Joint Venture known as The Hartsfield Planning Collaborative (HPC), whose other members are HNTB, B&E Jackson, S.L. King Associates, and Cecil Chan Associates. McAfee3 is providing lead architectural services for the planning and design of the expansion and renovation of Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. Known as the world’s busiest airport, the $5.2 billion capital improvement program is to satisfy current aviation demand and forecasted growth. McAfee3 and the JV team are integrating major capacity projects with replacement/upgrade/maintenance and expansion projects in the Central Passenger Terminal Complex (CPTC); the Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC); an expanded automated people mover (APM); a new fifth runway/taxiway complex; a new domestic terminal, and expanded air cargo facilities. Though the project was already an awesome and complex undertaking, September 11, 2001, placed new challenges on the HPC team. McAfee3 responded to changing security needs as well as financial challenges for the airlines and support services.
