The Kansas African American Museum was developed by Charles McAfee who has extensive experience in cultural/arts projects including programming and designing of computer technological based educational areas, media centers, performing arts areas, classrooms and studios, display and gallery areas, and museum halls. A new building for The Kansas African American Museum (TKAAM) and the Gordon Parks Creative Center was designed by CFM. The new facility will house exhibition space, a gift shop, a restaurant, administrative offices, educational space for art, music, photography, journalism and literature classes, a library, media center along with a multipurpose theater and film studio with film making facility.
